1. Service-Based Nature
Our services consist of private music lessons, courses, and educational content that are delivered digitally and through live instruction. Due to the service-based nature of our offerings, different refund policies apply compared to physical products.
2. Cancellation Policy
2.1 Before Course Start Date
If you cancel your enrollment before the course or lesson package begins, you are eligible for a full refund of all fees paid, minus any processing fees. Cancellation requests must be submitted at least 7 days before the scheduled start date.
2.2 After Course Start Date
For cancellations made after the course or lesson package has begun:
- Within 7 days of first lesson: You may receive a partial refund for unused lessons, minus a cancellation fee of 10% of the total purchase price
- After 7 days: No refunds are available, but you may be eligible to transfer remaining lessons to another student with our approval
2.3 No-Show Policy
If you fail to attend a scheduled lesson without providing at least 24 hours' notice, the lesson will be considered completed and will not be refunded or rescheduled.
3. Refund Eligibility
Refunds may be available in the following circumstances:
3.1 Eligible for Refund
- Cancellation before course start date (with 7 days' notice)
- Cancellation within 7 days of first lesson (partial refund)
- Technical issues preventing access to course materials that we cannot resolve
- Course cancellation by Elite Music Courses
- Instructor unavailability preventing course delivery
3.2 Not Eligible for Refund
- Cancellation after 7 days from first lesson
- Change of mind after course completion
- Dissatisfaction with course content or teaching style (unless course does not match description)
- Failure to meet prerequisites or skill level requirements
- Personal circumstances preventing course completion
- Access to course materials has been granted
4. Refund Process
To request a refund:
- Submit a written refund request to us via email or our contact form within the eligible time period
- Include your full name, course enrollment details, order number, and reason for cancellation
- Allow 5-10 business days for processing
- Refunds will be issued to the original payment method used for purchase
We reserve the right to review each refund request individually and may request additional information before processing.
5. Refund Timeline
Once your refund request is approved:
- Refunds will be processed within 5-10 business days
- It may take an additional 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your payment provider
- You will receive email confirmation once the refund has been processed
6. Transfer Policy
Instead of a refund, you may request to transfer your enrollment:
- Course Transfer: Transfer to a different course or instructor (subject to availability)
- Student Transfer: Transfer remaining lessons to another student (with our approval)
- Credit: Receive account credit for future courses (valid for 12 months)
Transfer requests must be submitted in writing and are subject to availability and approval.
7. Subscription and Recurring Payments
If you have a subscription or recurring payment plan:
- You may cancel your subscription at any time
- Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period
- You will continue to have access to services until the end of the paid period
- No refunds are provided for the current billing period after cancellation
- You will not be charged for future billing periods after cancellation
8. Instructor Cancellations
If an instructor cancels a lesson:
- We will make every effort to provide a substitute instructor or reschedule the lesson
- If neither option is available, you will receive a full refund for that lesson
- If multiple cancellations occur, you may request a full refund for the course
9. Course Cancellation by Elite Music Courses
If we cancel a course before it begins:
- You will receive a full refund of all fees paid
- We will notify you as soon as possible and offer alternative options
- Refunds will be processed within 5 business days
10. Dispute Resolution
If you disagree with a refund decision:
- Contact us to discuss your concerns
- We will review your case and provide a written response within 10 business days
- If we cannot resolve the dispute, you may pursue other legal remedies available under applicable law
11. Processing Fees
Some refunds may be subject to processing fees:
- Payment processing fees (typically 2-3%) may be deducted from refunds
- Cancellation fees (10%) apply to cancellations made after course start date but within 7 days
- We will clearly disclose any applicable fees before processing your refund
12. Currency and Payment Methods
All refunds will be issued:
- In the same currency as the original payment (typically CAD)
- To the original payment method used for purchase
- Subject to exchange rate fluctuations if currency conversion is required
13. Exceptions
We reserve the right to make exceptions to this policy on a case-by-case basis for extenuating circumstances, including:
- Medical emergencies
- Bereavement
- Natural disasters
- Other circumstances beyond your control
